Once again, the title battle was a clash of the Spaniards as reigning World Champion Toni Bou and rival Adam Raga traded blows throughout the season. Only one other rider, Japan's Takahisa Fujinami, could claim victory in 2008 as Bou and Raga took the fight for the crown right down to the wire.
