Vincent Ward's directorial debut is set on a remote New Zealand sheep farm. Following the death of her father, Lisa Fiona Kay, her mother and her grandfather struggle to keep the farm going, helped by a strange hired hand whose presence brings tension to the family. The cast also includes Penelope Stewart, Frank Whitten and Bill Kerr.
