When Maureen Winston Rebecca Ashley is kidnapped, her grandfather Leon Ames recruits Jake Speed Crawford, a fictional character from a series of pulp fiction novels, to help bring her back. To everyone's surprise Jake turns out to be real and quickly accepts the job. Setting out with his trusted sidekick Desmond Floyd Dennis Christopher, Jake soon finds his old enemy Sid John Hurt is behind all the trouble.
